The Spyderco Yojimbo is a knife with plenty of different uses. It was designed by Michael Janich, and noted self-defense teacher, to be an everyday carry knife that also excels in self defense. The blade is made of 3.125" of CPM S30V stainless steel, and it has a pronounced wharncliffe shape. The handles are made of black G10, and nested inside of the scales are two stainless steel liners, one of them doubling as the lock. The lock is a compression lock, which Spyderco engineered to be somewhat of a reverse linerlock with added strength. The liner extends farther than the tang of the blade, doubling as a detent, and when the knife is in the open position the extension of the liner rests in a cutout on the tang of the blade. This makes for not only an easy to close locking mechanism, but for added strength due to the lock's self adjusting tendencies. Made in Golden, Colorado.
